This is the oldest remaining of my bonsais. I seem to be fairly adept at killing them off for some reason :( I got this one this last summer at Musicfest, and as well as I've been able to determine it's some sort of Tea Tree. I've been looking up info in my books on how to take care of it And I'm figuring on following the directions for the Phillipine Tea. I'll keep ya updated on the progress I guess :) It seems to be happy enough for now eh? |

And here... is my pride and joy. :) This little fella was a cutting from my big 12 year old serissa that just died this summer. The poor thing survived the whole winter, and then just all of the sudden started dropping leaves just before it got warm enough to put him back outside for the summer. About all I can figure is that he got some kind of grub or bug, or the grow lights stopped giving off the right amount of UV or something. Luckily though, my little one survived. I took the cutting about 2 years ago, and potted him up when he was only about 2 leaf pairs tall. I've done all the shaping and trimming myself, and I'm honestly quite happy with how he's turning out. He seems to be kind of happy as well since he's still growing beautifully. |

And here's the next generation. I took these cuttings from my little one at the beginning of the summer. One of these is going to be my brother's once I get them all trained and potted up in a few years. I've got a few little maples planted out in the front garden as well that took root this summer. I've just let them go and hacked them back when they started getting too tall. I'm hoping to pot them up sometime next summer when the trunks thicken up some and they've had time to go dormant. |
